Kinetic Implements Rental Software on iOS and MACKinetic Lighting is revealing its latest investment in technology -- but this time, it's not in equipment. In an exciting new upgrade, the company has developed its own software system to manage its operations. Kinetic's program is one of the first such applications that can run on Mac, Windows, and even iOS, allowing staff to access the system from their iPhones and iPads. And since the program uses web standards like HTML 5 and CSS, the system can also be accessed from a web browser. "We've been a Mac house since our inception and have long searched to find an off-the-shelf solution we could run natively," said Kinetic president David Rosen. "After a lot of research, we determined building our own app with Filemaker Pro was the most effective option for a knockout result." The cross platform app handles rental and sales inventory management, orders, repair tickets, truck schedules, crew schedules, contacts, requisitions, and purchase orders. The system emails reminders and alerts to users -- for instance, a notice to the appropriate staff member when inventory levels fall below certain thresholds, or an event crew needs beefing up -- helping protect against costly oversights. "We're excited about all the cool tech tools we've implemented recently -- details that continue to help us stand out and operate more efficiently," Rosen said.
