Obsidian Unveils NXW PC Control Wing

Visit Obsidian at Prolight+Sound 2025, Stand B49/C49 in Hall 12.1.

At Prolight+Sound this week, Obsidian Control Systems previews the NXW, a PC control wing designed to bring professional-grade power to any ONYX lighting control platform setup. The company is exhibiting at Stand B49/C49 in Hall 12.1.

Through its USB-C connection, the NXW provides a responsive, professional hardware surface to operate ONYX on any PC system. Designed for freelancers, touring professionals, and fixed installs alike, it delivers everything in a compact, road-ready form. From RGB-backlit motorized playback faders to RGB-backlit keycaps and customizable multi-function buttons, every detail is crafted to boost speed, precision, and creativity, the company says.

"The NXW might be small in size, but it's packed with features our users have been asking for," says Koy Neminathan, business development director at Obsidian. "Whether you're working live on stage or pre-programming at home, this little powerhouse delivers. It's responsive, flexible, and ready for anything."

Key features include ten motorized faders with RGB backlight, low-latency optical buttons with RGB backlight, programming keypad plus ten multi-function buttons, four RGB parameter encoders, four integrated DMX/RDM ports, gigabit network port, and a 16-universe ONYX essential license (upgradable to 128 via USB license port).

In a statement, the company says, "Built to match the layout and feel of larger NX consoles, any user of ONYX will feel instantly familiar with the NXW. The design is ergonomic and comfortable, making it a pleasure to use right out of the box. Plug it into your ONYX PC system and get started instantly -- no setup or additional installation is required. No compromises, no delays. Just instant control."

Portable and lightweight, the NXW is expandable with the NXP motorized fader wing and can be added on to the NX1 console.
