Richard Cadena Joins PLASA as Technical Editor and Assistant Technical Standards Manager

Richard Cadena

Richard Cadena, a respected lighting designer and entertainment technology media professional, has joined the PLASA staff. Cadena will serve as the technical editor for Lighting&Sound America and Lighting&Sound International magazines, and, at Protocol magazine with sr. technical editor, Karl Ruling. Additionally in the PLASA North American office, Cadena will serve as assistant technical standards manager.

Richard Cadena has worked in the entertainment technology industry for over 25 years, including, most recently, at PLSN magazine and, before that at High End Systems and Martin Professional. Cadena has volunteered on the ESTA-now PLASA -Technical Standards Committee, is an ETCP certified Entertainment Electrician, teaches throughout the year with his Academy of Production Technology training program, and has authored four theatre lighting books.

PLASA managing director and CEO Matthew Griffiths stated, "We are very excited to welcome Richard Cadena into the PLASA team. He is widely respected for his knowledge, hands-on technical, media, and training experience in the industry and will be an invaluable resource for us all."

Lori Rubinstein, executive director of PLASA's North American office added, "Richard is a highly respected and tireless industry contributor and volunteer. We look forward to his continuing contributions as a PLASA staff member to our important Technical Standards Program."
