LDI 2020 is Canceled; Dates Announced for 2021 In a move that will surprise very few, LDI 2020 has been canceled. The trade show was scheduled for October 23 - 25. The 2021 edition is scheduled for November 19 - 21, 2021, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The news arrived with the following statement: "We recognize the tremendous economic and emotional impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the global market, and we are committed to working with each stakeholder on a solution to support your business. For more than three decades, LDI has been the hub for the global live production community to learn about new technologies and applications, engage with peers and industry vendors, and replenish creativity. "This will be the first time in our 32-year history that the event has been forced to cancel. Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by the current situation. Our number-one priority remains keeping our entire industry safe and helping to rebuild in the near future, in a manner that reflects our community-forward focus. "The LDI team is working through the logistics that are involved with cancelling an event. Any paid attendance options will be automatically rolled over to the 2021 show. Exhibitors and sponsors will be contacted shortly with additional information." Although few industry insiders expected LDI to take place in October, it rings down the curtain on a year that saw The NAMM Show, last January in Anaheim, and ISE, last February in Amsterdam, as the two trade shows of note. This is only the most visible sign of the chaos caused to the live events industry by the COVID-19 pandemic. The next trade show on the industry's calendar is The 2021 NAMM Show, scheduled for the Anaheim Convention Center on January 21 - 24. The association has said that it will take place.
