Allen & Heath to Offer Worship-Focused Live Sound Training at CFX Conference

Mike Bangs leading a dLive masterclass for Allen & Heath University.

Allen & Heath announces its participation in the upcoming CFX (Church Facilities Expo) conference, taking place this October. As part of its commitment to supporting the live sound community, Allen & Heath will be offering a comprehensive series of live sound training sessions designed to enhance the audio experience for church and house of worship professionals.

All courses will be led by Allen & Heath live sound and touring manager, Michael Bangs -- whose 20+ year career includes experiences as a monitor engineer and production manager for A-list acts including Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Katy Perry, Tom Petty, Kid Rock, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The training will kick off with an extended masterclass titled "Mixing for Worship" on October 21. This in-depth session will cover a wide range of topics essential for achieving optimal live sound in worship settings. Attendees will gain valuable insights into preamp gain staging, EQ techniques, compression, effects usage, and more. The session will also include ample time for attendees to ask questions and discuss specific challenges they face.

Following the masterclass, Allen & Heath will host shorter, 90-minute focused sessions on October 22 and 23. These sessions will delve into specific aspects of live sound, including gain staging, monitor mixing, the use of multiband compressors and dynamic EQs, and optimizing streaming mixes. These practical workshops will provide attendees with practical tips and techniques to improve their audio skills.

"We are thrilled to be offering this comprehensive live sound training program at CFX," says Tom Der, director of market development for Allen & Heath USA. "Our goal is to empower church and house of worship professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to create exceptional audio experiences. By sharing our expertise, we hope to help attendees elevate their sound and better serve their congregations."
