Discover the Cadac Sound at PLASA FocusCadac will be demoing the compact CDC five console alongside the flagship CDC seven-s on booth R-B04 at this year's PLASA Focus in Leeds. Both consoles share the same exemplary audio performance and intuitive graphical user interface but on differing hardware configurations. There are three configurations, including the mid-sized CDC six, which means a Cadac solution can be specified for a majority of applications, ensuring no audio performance compromises are made due to either physical or budgetary constraints. Cadac offers solutions ranging from a single standalone console to a 3072 channel audio network that can handle up to 12 MegaCOMMS units (consoles, stageboxes, or bridges). The programmable CDC MC Router with NetCOMMS control software, enables the creation and recall of large, resilient networks with optical runs of up to 2km. Cadac's MegaCOMMS protocol delivers fully time-aligned and phase-coherent 96kHz/24-bit audio, with an unrivalled total through-system propagation delay, including all console processing and A-D/D-A conversions, of just 400us, or 37 samples (@ 96kHz). A network's resultant sound quality is thus identical to that of the CDC console; superior to that of any other commercially available network technology. Access to Cadac's unique combination of audio performance and initiative control starts with the CDC five, whose power-to-form factor ratio has been designed for smaller installation, corporate and touring applications. Mixing of 48 inputs and up to 30 assignable busses, when in Monitor Mode, is via a single 23.5-inch touchscreen, 28 encoders and 16 faders, plus dual banks of user assignable buttons. Local connectivity is via 16 analogue inputs, eight analogue outputs and eight digital I/O, as well as an integrated 64 x 64 Waves card, plus dual MegaCOMMS ports for remote stagebox expansion. The flagship CDC seven-s features the enhanced flexibility of dual-23.5" touch screens, with an addition 6.5" control screen, 36 faders, plus an expanded channel count of 128 inputs and 64 output busses - of which 56 are assignable (62 in Monitor Mode) as Group, Stereo Group, Aux, Stereo Aux, or Matrix. The CDC six completes Cadac's digital line up and sits in middle of the range, offering an input channel count of 80 and up to 56 outputs, with a single 23.5" touch screen plus a 6.5" control screen and 20 faders. The CDC six shares the same feature set of the CDC five and CDC seven-s, including gesture navigation, Monitor Mode, custom fader layers and show file configuration. Cadac marketing manager James Godbehear says, "Our range of consoles have been designed to appeal to a wide customer base and range of applications. They all feature the same superb audio performance with a common familiar form factor. The consoles and the MegaCOMMS networking capability will appeal to multi-purpose and house of worship applications, as well as for the touring and corporate markets where audio quality and creativity cannot be compromised."
