Morpheus Lights Introduces the OXO FunStripLED -- a New 3,000K LED Striplight at USITT 2013Morpheus Lights will debut the OXO FunStripLED, an interesting and innovative new strip luminaire manufactured by OXO Show Solutions of France, to the US market at USITT 2013, running March 21-23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Morpheus Lights will exhibit in booth 530. "We're delighted to introduce the FunStripLED, just in time for USITT," remarks Keith Bennett, Morpheus Lights' national sales consultant. "An LED version of the venerable MR16 striplight, the FunStripLED is equipped with 10 individually-controllable, nine-watt, 3,000K LED sources mounted in MR16-style reflectors. Visually, the color temperature is identical to the MR16 halogen source. The MR16 reflector provides a similar illumination field, the company says. At only 90W at full intensity, it consumes a fraction of the 750W drawn by an MR16 series-circuited 10 x EYC source. "The very low heat dissipation afforded by the LED sources will allow designers to apply the fixture in décor, set design, stage, or retail spaces with significantly reduced danger of heat damage. Weighing in at only 12lb, the fixture lends itself to a wide variety of installation applications. Standard filters or diffusion can be utilized with media burn-though or discoloration greatly reduced. Bennett explained: "With independent control of each LED source via DMX or RDM, the fixture can be used as a matrix or to create single-cell chase effects, which the company notes, isn't possible with series-wired MR16s. The LED sources are rated at 50,000 hours and will reduce labor and replacement lamp costs as well as energy consumption. The fixture is equipped with two user-selectable dimmer modes -- linear or tungsten emulation -- to offer versatile 0-100% dimming to matching existing halogen source dimming curves. Finally, it will be offered at an attractive and affordable price point. Please visit us at booth 530!"
