The Week in ReviewKÀ to Resume Performances: Cirque du Soleil's KÀ is open once again following the death of Sarah (Sassoon) Guyard-Guillot, a performer who fell to her death during the show's celebrated battle sequence. As of now, that sequence is no longer in the show. Also, consider this: "Details surrounding the June 29 accident are still under review by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and their report on the matter may take up to six months before it is released." Currently, Let it Bet, another Beatles tribute show, is playing Broadway's St. James Theatre. Now, the people behind Rain are surely those behind Let it Be. It's a tangled tale, to be sure, and you get all the details at http://plasa.me/31ldt. (Our personal solution would be to do away with tribute shows on Broadway, but, sadly, we are aware that this isn't going to happen.) Another Ferris Wheel Announced: It's official: The new cure-all for what is ailing needy municipalities is the Ferris Wheel. Following the success of the London Eye, cities across America have hopped on the Ferris Wheel bandwagon. Vegas has one opening this fall. A few weeks ago, we told you that Staten Island is angling for one. And now, Atlanta has opened SkyView, a 200' wheel. Key quote: "The city leaders saw the great views, but they also saw things a little differently. They not only see it as a great place to take in the city, but also a 20-story economic boom. 'Every new attraction gives us exponential growth in investment and the amount of dollars in our city. That means a lot for our economy and means a lot for job creation,' said Councilman Kwanza Hall." Maybe, but at one point do they stop being remarkable?
