Kinetic Lighting Now Offers Fully-Equipped PreViz Suite Kinetic Lighting introduces its newest offering to the industry: a fully equipped pre-visualization suite located near the company's headquarters in Glendale, California. "It has been a long-time goal of ours to build out a dedicated previz suite at Kinetic," said company co-owner James Schipper. "We polled a number of designers and programmers on what they would want in their ideal suite -- and it's gratifying to see their reaction to a space built to their dream specs. The feedback has been phenomenal." Tech features of the suite include a control console; desktop PC graphics computer; high-definition primary viewing monitor; a secondary monitor for use as a workstation or preview terminal; and a SMPTE timecode distripalyzer/generator. The space offers presets for 3,200k, 4,100k, and 5,600k, as well as mood lighting. It offers iPad streaming music playback, and studio-grade powered speakers and headphones. Power at 120V and 208V is available for fixture sync and testing. A color printer is included, and the suite is set up for both wired and wireless Internet. Comfort amenities include a height-adjustable console table; lounge and seating areas; snacks and beverages; a Keurig machine for hot drinks; and a mini fridge and ice machine. The space also has street-level access and a connected private parking lot. "We wanted a previz suite that not just provided the technical tools required to support designers and programmers, but also a fun and inspiring atmosphere," Schipper said. "The vibey decor, extensive beverage and snack selections, outfitting of supplies, even the cozy pillows and blankets for those long-haul programming sessions -- it's a comfort-filled space that allows our guests to focus on their main task: creating their best show." Kinetic offers the suite for full day (24-hour access) and half day sessions.
