Harman's Soundcraft Introduces the New Si Performer 1 Digital ConsoleAt last week's Winter NAMM 2014, Harman's Soundcraft added to its Si Performer Series digital consoles with the introduction of the Si Performer 1 -- the most compact Si Performer console to date. The Si Performer features two option card slots available for ViSi connect expansion cards, 80 inputs to mix, Soundcraft's patented FaderGlow and channel displays for instant mix status, plus the DMX interface and control (which allows simultaneous control of light and sound) ... all of which is available in a single 19" rackmount console. The Si Performer's two option card slots offer unprecedented flexibility, enabling users to connect stageboxes, while providing the ability to connect to audio networks like Dante, BLU Link, and CobraNet. The option card slots also allow for use with personal monitoring systems like the dbx PMC personal monitor controller via BLU Link. The Si Performer has an input capacity of 80 audio inputs to mix on all models, while featuring the same mix power as the Performer 2 and 3 consoles but with 16 mic pres and 16 faders. It is a feature-packed audio console with fully parametric four-band EQ as standard on all input channels, and as usual on Soundcraft's digital range, BSS graphic Eqs on all bus outputs. This is in addition to the already standard filters, gates, compressors, and delays on all inputs and compressors and delays on all outputs, which when calculated delivers the equivalent of over 448 rack units of processing in a tiny footprint. Unlike many other digital consoles at this price point, all this processing is fully available all of the time, there are no compromises on the amount of DSP in use. In addition, the Si Performer offers Soundcraft FaderGlow, which allows faders to be color-coded via an LED strip alongside the fader to indicate its function or channel identification. The Si Performer 1 also features eight VCA groups and eight mute groups for easier control over Si Performer 1's 80 inputs and 35 busses. Each channel on the surface features a custom LCD screen to show identifications such as channel name, assignments, graphic EQ frequencies and DMX data, plus signal metering. Lastly, the unique integration of a DMX512 port offers core lighting control, ideal for single (audio + lighting) operator application.
