Upstaging Takes Delivery of Robert Juliat Lancelot Followspots and Sends Them on TourUpstaging Inc., a lighting, trucking, event marketing, production services, and event coordination company based in metro Chicago, has acquired 14 Robert Juliat Lancelot 4000W HTI followspots. They will head out on the road on US tours for The Rolling Stones, One Direction, and AC/DC. A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of Robert Juliat fixtures in the US. "We took delivery of 14 Lancelots," reports Chuck Spector at Upstaging. "We really like Robert Juliat's Victor and Flo followspots; they have held up really well -- they're robust and maintenance is very easy. Our experience with them made us very positive on Robert Juliat and attracted us to the Lancelots. The Lancelots are very popular in Europe in the large-format field, and we saw an opportunity to invest in them." The Lancelot's innovative optical train improves on the power and very long throw capabilities of its smaller counterparts. It is the benchmark fixture for big events and concerts where its innovative technology, outstanding light output, and extremely flat beam set new standards for both followspots and automated lighting products. Spector praises the Lancelot's "high quality beam of light, good photometrics, and good dowser technology." And he's confident that they will prove to be as robust and maintenance-free as the Victors and Flos have been. Another factor in selecting the Lancelots was the continuing "awesome" support that Upstaging has received from A.C.T Lighting. "Those guys have never ever let us down: They've always been on our side and done their best for us," says Spector. "So many times we're under the gun with deadlines, but A.C.T always works with us. They don't put the ball back in our court as some vendors do."
