Moxy Lower East Side Debuts with 1 SOUND Audio Systems The Moxy Hotel chain has expanded its New York footprint with the launch of the Moxy Lower East Side. The 303-room urban retreat is the fifth outpost in Manhattan. Anthem Productions was the integrator, installing 1 SOUND loudspeakers in four venues. "By providing a stunning variety of venues and concepts under a single roof, the hotel really embodies the diversity of the Lower East Side," says Lightstone president Mitchell Hochberg. "People come to the neighborhood to indulge their thirst for discovery, and they'll get that at the Moxy, too -- and we've made it accessible rather than exclusive." In the lobby, The Fix, an all-day bar and café, features Cannon C6 units with FSUB45s and SUB310s hidden under banquettes and other locations. Tao Group's restaurant, Sake No Hana, is a 4,227-sq.-ft space that seats 165. Here, Anthem installed Cannon C4i and C6 units, along with Tower LCC44s, providing the needed SPL and clarity. 1 SOUND wall and floor subwoofer are distributed here, along with SUB310s, which are, the company says, comparable to the SPL output of a double 18" subwoofer with a slimmer form factor. The piano lounge, Silver Lining, pays tribute to the hotel's entertainment-filled neighborhood, hosting several acts each night. Cannon C6 and SUB310 units are deployed here. On the 16th floor, a glamorous rooftop bar, the Highlight Room, also by Tao Group, features a dance floor and, on weekends, DJs. The system here is made up of cardioid Tower LCC44s, which help reduce reflections from floor-to-ceiling glass windows. WSUB45s and SUB310s are deployed for low frequency. Cannon C6 units are used as monitors in the DJ booth and outside on the balcony with C-Clamps and L-Brackets providing easy aiming.
