NSCA 2015 Compensation & Benefits Report ReleasedThe National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) announces its 2015 Compensation & Benefits Report, based on data gathered from systems integrators across the country. Now in its fifth iteration, the report tracks and benchmarks compensation and benefits data for a variety of key positions within the industry, including technical and administrative roles. Systems integration firms of all sizes participated in a survey that collected information on company background, staffing levels, employee benefits, compensation, and sales forces. This survey data was used to develop the 2015 Compensation & Benefits Report. "This new research answers many of the employment questions we receive from NSCA members regarding competitive wages and benefits. Integrators see great value in benchmarking with others in the exact type of business," says NSCA executive director Chuck Wilson. "With this new data, they'll be able to gauge where they stand and make better decisions going forward." The report indicates positive signs of growth, with the median number of full-time staff continuing to increase. In 2010, survey respondents reported a median number of 21 full-time staff; the 2015 report indicates a median number of 23 full-time staff. The largest concentration of full-time staff is still found in technical job categories (installers, electronic systems technicians, programmers, engineers, etc.). Staffing levels are predicted to stay at this level, with most respondents reporting no change in their staff numbers. Nearly 37% of survey respondents indicated that they would be increasing staff size this year. Revenue trends also seem to be generally positive, with nearly 64% of respondents expecting revenue to increase from 2013 to 2014. The net change in revenue is expected to be a median gain of 7.1%. The 2015 Compensation & Benefits Report also covers: • Labor bargaining unit (LBU) staff • Employee benefits, with health insurance being the most popular benefit • Key positions and salaries, including bonuses and commission • A breakdown of salaries based on position, location, and company size The 2015 Compensation & Benefits Report provides integrators with a valuable tool that allows them to compare business performance in relationship to an important asset: their people.
