Elation in Abundance at Ultra Music FestivalElation Professional has become "go to" lighting at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida where again this March a massive production setup included hundreds of Elation lighting products used to set the mood and back performances by some of the world's best DJs. AG Lights and Sound supplied lighting and video across seven stages for the EDM extravaganza including over 500 Elation fixtures, among them Platinum Spot 35 Pro's, Design LED 60 Tri-strips, and Opti Tri 30 LED color changers with Elation Opto Branch 4's used for DMX distribution. Lighting design was by Steve Lieberman of SJ Lighting. Meanwhile, at the SLS Hotel South Beach, aka the Avicii Hotel, Tour FX supplied Platinum Beam 5R Extremes and Rayzor Q7's for DJ guest appearances hosted by EDM hitmaker Avicii. Nick Assunto of Tour FX, who specified the Elation gear and partnered with Avicii, Ushuaia Ibiza, and the SLS Hotel on the event, designed a custom truss structure based on Ushuaia's Ibiza setup and worked together with Ushuaia lighting designer Ian Tomlinson to implement a lighting plot. Because much of the event was during the day, Tour FX needed a bright fixture that was able to be seen during the day and the company says it was found in the new Platinum Beam 5R Extreme, used as the main light in the setup. "We wanted the higher output you get from the Elation Platinum Beams," Assunto said. "The updated Extreme version has excellent lumens output, fast movement and clean optics and the colors are superior as well. I like the fact that the body was redesigned too. For me, return on investment and quality of the fixtures are major reasons why we go with Elation and with the support from the Elation team we really feel taken care of. We've done some other projects with Elation in South Florida and now with their new facility in Miami, it's an even better reason to go with them."
