Zylight F8 LED Fresnel Receives Cine Gear Expo Technical AwardZylight, a manufacturer of LED lighting solutions, announces it was awarded the 2013 Cine Gear Expo Technical Award for Lighting Technology for its new F8 LED Fresnel. Presented to new products in several categories, the awards were selected on site by a panel of industry experts last month during Cine Gear Expo Los Angeles. "To be recognized by Cine Gear Expo, one of the leading technology shows for the entertainment industry, is quite an honor for us," said Joe Arnao, president of Zylight. "The F8 folds flat and provides several other innovative twists on the traditional Fresnel. Our compact LED technology allows us to provide a cooler, more compact, and energy efficient light without compromising performance." With quantum dot technology in its US-built LED engine and a CRI (color rendering index) of 97 or better, the fully dimmable F8 offers and adjustable beam spread for even coverage for widescreen productions. Available in tungsten (3,200K) or daylight (5,600K) versions, it collapses to less than four-inches thick for easy transport and storage. It maintains single shadow traditional Fresnel beam shaping through an eight-inch SCHOTT glass lens, and offers a patented focusing system for spot and flood operations. While the F8 draws only 100W, it has close to the light output of a traditional 1,000W Fresnel. It is also water resistant (IP54) for use in challenging location conditions, and can be powered by a worldwide AC adapter or standard 14.4V camera battery. Like other Zylight models, it is also equipped with ZyLink wireless technology, which makes it easy to link multiple Zylights for simultaneous remote control. The F8 includes a five-year warranty on the LED engine, and ships with barn doors and yoke mount.
