Projectiondesign at InfoComm InfoComm 2011 visitors will witness a whole new approach from projectiondesign, the company says. Showing for the first time in a command and control configuration, the projectiondesign FR12 Remote Light Source (RLS) will be integrated with the company's WB1920 multi-image processors and RGB Spectrum MediaWall 4200 to create a seamless high-resolution small operation center control room image. The FR12 relocates the lamps from the projector to a rack-mount enclosure up to 100' away from the projector head. Light from a rack-mounted RLS illuminates the projector head via a Liquid Light Guide (LLG). The result is a compact, ruggedized, virtually maintenance-free projector head with completely silent operation, perfect for fitting into compact control room installations, the company says. Another projector designed for control room requirements is the F35 wqxga, which features high-resolution imaging at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels -- about double that of standard HD. Building systems around the F35 wqxga projector reduces complexity by reducing the number of channels that would be used with lower resolution "standard" projectors, while displaying the same amount of information. The resulting benefits include reduced maintenance requirements, greatly reduced total cost of ownership, and halving of the system infrastructure requirements such as source channels, cabling, and mounting hardware, the company says. The F35 wqxga projector is shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Install Grade Projector category in the 2011 SCN-InfoComm Installation Product Awards. Winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony taking place during InfoComm 2011. projectiondesign has teamed up with specialist display processing, recording and connectivity solutions provider, RGB Spectrum to showcase innovation in real-world applications at InfoComm 2011. Scott D. Norder, senior vice president at RGB Spectrum says: "We see a great fit with projectiondesign projectors to display our high-resolution content from our processors to be shown on a single screen and in any configuration, including custom configuration. What's more, projectiondesign high-performance projectors are to be found in the same sectors we work in, such as military, defense, command and control rooms."
