Sommer Introduces New Armored Superflex Data Cables

Sommer Cable is now shipping its new data cable series in three versions. The Pure, Armored, and Superflex versions, from CAT.5e to high-frequency CAT.7, provide secure solutions for a wide variety of applications.

Sommer's new cable series features specialized designs for harsh environments to assure stable connections under adverse conditions. The new series is ideal for all CAT.5e, CAT.6, CAT.6A, and high-frequency CAT.7 PUR transmission.

The centerpiece of each of the three variants is SC-Mercator cable, available in different versions to provide exact solutions for extreme conditions and applications. Whether on the high seas, in industrial plants or at outdoor events and with mobile vans, Sommer's Ethernet connection cabling houses armored SC-Mercator and tough Neutrik connector housings.

The Ethernet connection cable KATE, consisting of the SC-Mercator CAT.6a Armored and Neutrik connector housing NE8MX-B-TOP provides extra protection with stainless steel armoring and PVC jacket. Cable is certified to the True Outdoor Protection (TOP) standard and is top IP65 protection against water, dust, and other environmental elements. With high-power capacity, the cable remains flexible and easy to lay, the company says. Whether indoors or outdoors, the cable withstands extra heavy-duty use.

Sommer's PUR jacket cable X6TE is not only abrasion-resistant, but also secure from mechanical effects and UV radiation. The X6TE version combines Neutrik NE8MX-B-TOP housing with the highly flexible SC-Mercator CAT.6 Superflex (Art. 580-0201) network cable.

Sommers CAT.7 version, with transmission frequency up to 600MHz, is well-suited for the most demanding requirements in speed and reliability. The P7TE version with SC-Mercator CAT.7 PUR bulk cable (Art. 581-0071) relies on the NE8MX-B-TOP, while the P7RE version is equipped with the innovative NE8MXR-B-TOP housing. This unique design allows the housing to be completely retracted, enabling flexible and universal use with RJ45 sockets.
