Scott Burkhart Effects, LLC Announces ScottEffx to Create and Publish Music Light ShowsA brand new product, ScottEffx, enables anyone to create and publish music light shows using their own LED string lights. At a recent school science fair, over 50 elementary students created their own light shows during the two hour event, ScottEffx is that easy to use. ScottEffx light shows are suitable for dances, graduation proms, night-time parades, Christmas, 4th of July, or any other special event including music. The founder and manufacturer is Scott Burkhart Effects, LLC -- the musicians light show company of Livermore, California. See the URL below for videos and more information. The ScottEffx system consists of a compact electronic package capable of driving eight separate sets of LED string lights, and software for your computer, tablet, or phone which runs the music light show. The ScottEffx unit is controlled by WiFi or USB, and users can easily add units for more LED string light channels. Three prototype cycles are complete, the hardware and software is robust, and ScottEffx is ready for production. Initially available for the Macintosh, the software will soon be available for all music-playing personal electronics. ScottEffx uses commonly available holiday LED string lights, as well as familiar music editing tools like GarageBand or Logic Pro, to make it easy for musicians to compose light shows to any music on their computer, including any of their iTunes songs. Simply import the music into GarageBand or Logic Pro for example, then start composing the light show as MIDI tracks using a MIDI keyboard. The user can export light shows for use by anyone. This gives the user new media opportunities to package light shows with music for sale or streaming to all music consumers. The ease of creating light shows for both personal and commercial purposes is what makes ScottEffx so appealing to musicians of any skill level. The company asks that users please consider helping to take this product to production. A Kickstarter campaign (Kickstarter, ScottEffx) is presently underway through May 28, to raise money [at $279 per unit] for a production start. Scott Burkhart Effects, LLC began February, 2014 to commercialize the ScottEffx system, under development since January, 2012. The founder, Scott Burkhart, has advanced degrees in Electronics Engineering from the University of Washington and Applied Physics from Caltech, and tries hard to play guitar. The company's goal is to provide light show creation and use products which vastly increase the light show content for all to enjoy. This includes LED string lights, wearable lights, or any decorative LED light use.
