Get Ready for Outdoor Event Season at the 2019 Severe Weather Summit

Event and venue professionals thrive in an environment that requires both careful preparation and the ability to adapt to frequently changing circumstances. But recent history shows that severe weather can disrupt even the best-laid plans. When it does, the results can be physically and financially catastrophic.

Continuing with the mission to provide the event industry with relevant and practical learning opportunities, the Event Safety Alliance announces the return of the Severe Weather Summit, March 21 - 22, 2019.

The Severe Weather Summit is designed to aid event and venue professionals of all types in preparing for and responding to dangerous weather conditions. Over the course of two days at the National Weather Center's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, subject matter experts from NOAA and the National Weather Service will explore topics including:

* Severe weather phenomena that can threaten all types of events and facilities;
* Why playing "amateur meteorologist" can be dangerous;
* Public and private-sector resources that can assist in weather preparedness;
* Technologies that can provide advanced warning of threatening weather; and
* How to develop a relevant and actionable severe weather plan.

Registration for this year's Severe Weather Summit is just $349 for ESA members, and $449 for non-members, and includes complimentary breakfast (included in hotel block) and lunch at the Storm Prediction Center.

Understanding severe weather is a science all to itself. The Severe Weather Summit will provide attendees with the knowledge necessary to identify and prepare for potential threats, and how to use existing technology and expertise in order to safely handle a severe weather event.

Seating for this event is limited. For more information and to register, visit severeweathersummit.com

Severe Weather Summit schedule will run Thursday, March 21, 9:00am - 5:00pm; and Friday, March 22, 9:00am - 2:30pm.

The Severe Weather Summit has negotiated a special group rate of $105 + tax a night for attendees at the Hilton Garden Inn in Norman, Oklahoma. Minutes from the National Weather Center, Hilton Garden Inn features complimentary Wi-Fi and a 24-hour business center, complimentary fitness center, and a full-service restaurant on the property. For hotel details and booking please visit norman.stayhgi.com and use the group code WSS.
