Nominations for 2018 Tony Awards AnnouncedThe 2018 Tony Awards nominations were announced May 1. Three plays, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two, The Iceman Cometh, and Angels in America, are nominated in all four design categories. Two musicals, Once on This Island and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical, are also nominated in all four design categories. For Potter, Christine Jones is nominated for Best Scenic Design; Katrina Lindsay for Best Costume Design; Neil Austin for Best Lighting Design; and Gareth Fry for Best Sound Design. For Iceman, Santo Loquasto for Best Scenic Design; Ann Roth for Best Costume Design; Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer for Best Lighting Design; and Dan Moses Schreier for Best Sound Design. For Angels, Ian MacNeil and Edward Pierce for Best Scenic Design; Nicky Gillibrand for Best Costume Design; Paule Constable for Best Lighting Design; and Ian Dickinson for Autograph for Best Sound Design. For Island, Dane Laffrey for Best Scenic Design; Clint Ramos for Best Costume Design; Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer for Best Lighting Design; and Peter Hylenski for Best Sound Design.
