Registration Now Open for 2025 URTA Auditions and Interviews (URTAs)Registration is open for the 2025 URTA Auditions & Interviews -- widely known as "The URTAs." Sites will once again include Philadelphia, Chicago, Fullerton, CA, and remote options. The event, produced by the University Resident Theatre Association, allows MFA candidates in all theatrical disciplines a single place to audition and/or interview with recruiters from dozens of schools from across the US and abroad. "We're very proud to continue this flagship program, despite recent challenges to our field," says executive director Tony Hagopian. "We know this event is crucially important for our member schools and the prospective students, and so we've worked hard to make sure it remains a reliable, efficient, and productive way for young artists to find graduate training that will help to place them in the professional theatre." In addition to the URTA Auditions, candidates in acting may take advantage of the guest auditions -- a separate audition attended by non-URTA schools including MFAs programs, conservatories, and overseas MA programs. In the past, 20-30 such institutions have taken part, joining URTA's 47 member universities. All URTA members undergo a peer review process to assess their MFA programs, offer financial assistance in the form of either tuition remission, scholarships, financial aid, paid assistantships, stipends, or a combination of these. URTA Candidate Awards offer free registration to qualified candidates in all discipline areas, including all participants in Sound Design and Arts Leadership. More information at: urta.com/awards.
