Martin Chinese Factory Receives ISO 14001 Certification Martin Manufacturing Zhuhai Ltd, Martin Professional's production facility in China, has fully developed and implemented the ISO 14001 environmental management system and received its ISO 14001 certification. The ISO 14001 environmental management standards address minimizing negative environmental impact while monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally oriented requirements. With the ISO 14001 certification, Martin's Chinese facility, which is already ISO 9001 certified, has met additional requirements pertaining to management reviews, audits, corrective/preventive action, and document control. Additionally, ISO 14001 encompasses: Improvements beyond current environmental impact standards Implementation of an environmental policy and action plan Maintaining high standards in the work environment "We have in fact been implementing the ISO 14001 standard at our Chinese facility for years but have only now received official certification. It is our express goal to be the greenest company in our industry and this is an important step in that direction," states Michael Christensen, Martin Professional's corporate QA manager. "Through compliance with ISO 14001, we are demonstrating in a concrete way our concern for our environmental impact. We report openly about our consumption of electricity, water and heat, and have set up a system for controlling our use of chemical material. In short, we show how we affect the world by producing lighting and smoke products. Perhaps most importantly, we have established goals and targets for continued improvement." Martin lives up to the ISO 9001 standard and maintains the same high quality standards across all its facilities. Martin is also fully compliant with ROHS, WEEE, and REACH standards and maintains a recycling program for electronic spare parts.
