Elation simplified ellipsoidal lighting with the all-in-one KL Profile FC; now, the company introduces a compact version that delivers the same studio-quality lighting. The KL PROFILE COMPACT is designed for any application where a compact ellipsoidal with outstanding color range and a flexible zoom range is required.

The company says the product's optical engineering, combined with integrated manual zoom and focus, ensures sharp, flawless projections free from color shifts or aberrations, regardless of the zoom, focus, or framing position. Dimming of the LED engine is smooth and stepless with variable 16-bit dimming curve modes and curves available.

The unit features a 94.9 CRI engine (TLCI of 95) that utilizes a 225W five-color homogenized LED array of red, green, blue, mint, and amber sources. The RGBMA engine, calibrated at a native color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin, emits beautifully diffused saturates and soft-field pastels, including tunable white light, the company says, delivering an output of 5,880 lumens.

The company says that high color quality and color manipulation are central to the unit, ensuring translates well to the camera. It can adjust for light that shifts away from pure white towards green or magenta through a green/magenta shift adjustment and a virtual gel library. It is billed as achieving superb color accuracy with fully variable 16-bit color temperature adjustment (2,400K- 8,500K), along with dim-to-warm and red shift emulation for an incandescent glow.

CMY and RGB emulation give designers access to a broad LED color array, including mixed whites. Capable of matching the white balance for the camera, the color temperature can be shifted without plus/minus green gels and filters. The LED refresh rate is DMX-adjustable, eliminating flickering with high-speed cameras.

With an integrated manual zoom range of 25 degrees to 50 degrees, the KL Profile Compact requires no additional lens tubes. A manual, full-blackout, four-blade framing system lets users refine the beam shape and frame around objects to be highlighted. For custom imaging, the fixture accepts size 'M' gobos (metal gobo holder included) and includes a 6.25" gel frame.

The KL Profile Compact has also been designed to be quiet in professional stage and studio situations. It offers enhanced fan controls down to Elation's Mute Mode, which disables the internal cooling fan. With its touch bar encoder for straightforward stand-alone operation, Aria x2 wireless management integration, and NFC configuration, setup and control are easy for lighting designers working in diverse settings, the company says.
