Illumination Arts to Provide Lighting Design for I-4 Ultimate Project in Florida

Illumination Arts will be providing lighting design services for the I-4 Ultimate Corridor project in Orlando, Florida as part of the I-4 Mobility Partners team that was selected by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Working with the HDR/Jacobs design joint venture tasked with landscaping and aesthetics, Illumination Arts will provide lighting designs for all of the aesthetic enhancements along the 21-mile I-4 corridor. The gateway to downtown Orlando and the area's major attractions, the I-4 Ultimate Project includes architectural elements, overpasses, monumental pylons, pedestrian bridges, landscaping, and fountains.

With dozens of signature structures in their lighting design portfolio and a deep history of work with communities, stakeholders, Departments of Transportation and large engineering design teams, the company says Illumination Arts is uniquely qualified to design the aesthetic lighting enhancements for the I-4 Ultimate project. Their previous award-winning projects include Christopher S. Bond Bridge in Kansas City, Cypress Avenue Bridge in Redding, California, Hastings Bridge in Minnesota, Main Street Bridge in Columbus, Ohio and Lowry Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis.

The I-4 Ultimate project is a public-private partnership concession agreement to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain 21 miles of I-4 from West Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County. It includes reconstructing 15 major interchanges; constructing more than 140 bridges; adding four dynamically tolled Express Lanes in the median; and completely rebuilding the general use lanes along the entire corridor.
