Theatre director Indhu Rubasingham is announced as a contributor to the "Core Values in Theatre Architecture" session, on the closing afternoon of the International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (ITEAC). Another important voice supporting the aim of ITEAC 2018 to provide a platform for the makers, creators, and operators of theatre so that their needs may be heard and better understood.

Since 2012 she has been artistic director of the North London Tricycle Theatre where she will have overseen a change in name and built form, as it is to be known as The Kiln when it reopens this September after an extensive two-year capital project redevelopment.

Along with other panelists, delegates will hear her thoughts on what it is about the theatre space itself that we should truly value and which spaces have inspired and shaped her thinking.

Awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honors List 2017, Rubasingham's pedigree of shows include the recent National Theatre co-production The Great Wave, a new play by Francis Turnly and the much-anticipated adaptation of Zadie Smith's novel White Teeth adapted by Stephen Sharkey, which will form part of the revamped theatre's opening autumn season.

Presented by the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), ITEAC 2018, running June 3 - 5 in London, will be the fifth edition of the conference. Conceived in 2002 by the late renowned stage engineer and ABTT Fellow, Richard Brett, the event has grown from strength to strength. Founding sponsor is TAIT Technologies and global sponsor is Unusual Rigging.

White Light Ltd, a patron sponsor of ITEAC 2018, is a complete production solution specialist, operating in a range of markets, including theatre, corporate events, concert touring, broadcast, themed attractions, education, and trade. Formed in 1971, it has forged a reputation for supplying technical solutions including lighting, audio, video, and rigging, to projects of all sizes, in the UK, Europe, and worldwide.

In appreciation of the additional activities that White Light is undertaking to support the conference, including logistics and equipment hire, the organizers report they are pleased to acknowledge White Light as a patron plus sponsor.
