Elation Sponsoring Free Jonathan Smeeton Lighting Design Seminar in Miami

Following on the heels of the lighting seminar for the aspiring LD, given by Jonathan Smeeten at Elation Professional's L.A. headquarters a few months ago, the LD will be repeating the success on October 15 at the company's Florida location near Miami.

As part of the company's continuing Elation Educational Experience (E3) Program, Elation is sponsoring another presentation by Jonathan Smeeton aimed at university level and other aspiring lighting designers. The FREE of charge, full day instructional seminar is titled "Lighting Design and its Application for the Stage."

Jonathan Smeeton's catalog of design work includes collaboration with Peter Gabriel, Diana Ross, Journey, Phil Collins, 3 Doors Down, Taylor Swift, and many more too numerous to mention. During the seminar, Smeeton will draw on his industry knowledge to present an overview of the history of entertainment lighting, and will examine modern vs. traditional technologies and techniques. Attendees will also gain insight into the lighting and stage design process and its realities using anecdotal examples taken from his extensive list of references.

The E3 seminar is part of Elation's continuing commitment to give back to the industry through educational events that bring design methodologies, new technology, and real world practice to young designers, the company says.
