Chauvet Professional Introduces COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour in RGBW and VW ModelsChauvet Professional welcomes two new PAR-style fixtures to its popular COLORado family of LED wash lights: the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour and COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour. An RGBW and a variable white unit respectively, both of these road-worthy fixtures utilize 14 bright 15W LEDs to emit powerful illumination for concerts, tours, productions, theaters, nightclubs, and events of all types. Quiet and flicker-free in their operation, they're perfect for use in broadcast rigs and studios as well. The COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour and COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour also each include a variable 6- to 30-degree zoom, controllable manually or via DMX, which gives designers the versatility to use them as a wash, a beam -- or both in the same rig. Additionally, both models feature five dimming curves for programming flexibility and 16-bit dimming resolution for extremely smooth fades. COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour -- Equipped with 14 quad-color RGBW 15W LEDs, the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom gives designers the ability to blend a limitless palette of hues, and it also includes a wide range color temperature pre-sets -- from 3,200K to 10,000K. Its design versatility is further enhanced by its wide-ranging zoom, allowing the projection of a concentrated beam from longer distances or a wider-angle wash at a shorter throw. Either way, this high-output PAR delivers a powerful punch, producing an impressive 8,000 lux at 5m (6-degree angle). COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour -- Like its RGBW counterpart, the variable white COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour achieves stellar color-blending via 14 quad-color high-output 15W LEDs, only in this case each "quad" LED consists of two warm white and two cool white diodes. This configuration allows the unit to produce an extremely wide spectrum of color temperatures -- 2,750K to 10,300K -- so that it can match virtually any shade of white, from warm tungsten to cool daylight and beyond. The ability to instantly dial up any required white tone makes the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour especially well suited to the nuances of broadcast/studio lighting. Like the RGBW version, it features a 6- to 30-degree zoom and provides outstanding brightness for its class -- 3,617 lux at 5m (6-degree angle). "We believe designers will come to regard the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour and COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour as the ultimate 'go-to' lights, wherever a high-output, high-quality color or white PAR-style wash is needed," said Ben Dickmann, product manager for Chauvet Professional. "The fixtures' powerhouse output, exceptionally smooth color blending, versatile zoom feature, five dimming curves, and camera-friendly flicker-free operation makes them perfect for use across many applications, from permanent installs, to touring/production, to broadcast rigs and studio lighting." CE and MET certified, the fixtures' rugged construction and long-life 50,000-hour LED rating will ensure safe, durable, maintenance-free operation wherever they are used. Easily linkable, the units feature standard Neutrik powerCON input/output connections, as well as three-pin and five-pin DMX input/output. Other features on the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour and COLORado 2-Quad Zoom include: built-in auto and custom programs recallable via DMX and master/slave; color macros with speed adjustment; and an electronic shutter/strobe. Each unit comes with a password-protected LED display control panel for easy, secure operation. One new enhancement on both the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom Tour and COLORado 2-Quad Zoom VW Tour that the company says designers will appreciate is an upgraded matte-style case paint finish, which minimizes reflection from other lights. Designed to provide versatile mounting options, each unit comes with a double-bracket yoke that can function as a floor stand in addition to being used for overhead hanging. Compact and lightweight, each model measures 11.1" x 9.3" x 13.8" (283 x 236 x 348 mm) and weighs 17.8lb (8.1 kg). See Chauvet Professional at PLASA Focus: Baltimore, May 8 - 9.
