Event Technicians Resource Group Launches Website

Scott C. Parker and Stage Seminars announce the launching of the Event Technicians Resource Group website, eventtrg.com.

The Event Technicians Resource Group is for those who work in the corporate theatre industry, aka corporate events, corporate meetings, association meetings, etc. Membership is open to all who work in the industry. Those who are pushing their way up the ladder will learn a tremendous amount, the company says.

The ETRG's primary goal is to support technicians early in their careers. To answer, "What do you wish you knew when you started?" or, "What did I not learn in school?" and "What's next for my freelance path?"

The Event Technicians Resource Group offers a wide range of information via its growing number of web pages, blog posts, and extensive databases. Parker says, "I have been curating a select group of industry professionals to help me shape the resource group." (For information on becoming a founding member, visit eventtrg.com/founders) Parker continues, "We have guidance pages on how to form an LLC for independent contractors along with pages talking about taxes for the freelancer." ETRG answers questions important to those starting in the business, including "what is a 1099 form?" and "how does per diem work?"

"The ETRG is not just for beginners," Parker continues. "We have valuable resources for designers, lead technicians, production supervisors, and more. Our members will have access to one of the most extensive entertainment equipment databases on the planet." Scott continues, "you can search by manufacturer, model number, keyword, supplier, and more. Most results contain every specification offered by the manufacturers."

Parker adds, "As so many of the methods of corporate theatre are born from the traditional theatre, stagehands of all sorts will also benefit from the knowledge contained within our resource group."

The Event Technicians Resource Group is planning on four tiers of membership: Free, Student, Individual, and Professional. Each level offers value on an escalating schedule. Paid memberships are available monthly and at a discounted yearly rate.
