Texas Scenic Company's Back to School Projects Texas Scenic Company (TSC) has completed installation of stage equipment in 11 schools for San Antonio, Texas' Northeast Independent School District -- just in time for the start of classes. Working with Big State Electric and MEP Engineering, both of San Antonio, the work encompassed seven high schools and four middle schools. Each high school received an ETC Ion console, 12 ETC Selador Desire LED fixtures, six Altman Spectra Cycs, and six florescent work lights. If the high school did not have the appropriate architectural control they received ETC Paradigm architectural control. Two middle schools needed dead hung rigging to accommodate their lighting fixtures. Each middle school received an ETC Unison dimmer rack with ETC Smartlink controls and an ETC Smartfade console. These schools are the first in San Antonio that have integrated LED lighting into their systems. The projects required a quick turnaround with contracts being signed in June and work completed by the start of classes. Since TSC had previously installed stage equipment in these schools, the layout and capabilities of each was known. Before all the work could be started, TSC had to make sure the proper DMX and other electrical support was in place for jobs to be completed quickly, accurately and on-time. Due to tight budget constraints on the projects, the TSC staff worked closely with the school district to find creative solutions to work within the budget. Finally, TSC technical services staff visited each school to conduct extensive training sessions with them.
