Total Structures Announces Outdoor Stage Roof Workshop in Las VegasTotal Structures announces they will be hosting an Outdoor Stage Roof Workshop in October in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday and Thursday, October 17-18, before LDI. The primary objectives for this event are safety, education, and to promote discussion within the industry on the correct use of such structures. For details go to the URL below. This two-day event will be held at MEET in downtown Las Vegas. This past March, Total Structures hosted a similar event in Ventura, California with great success. The two-day workshop offers an all-star cast of presenters including Jeff Reder, self-confessed roof geek and principle at Clark-Reder Engineering and Adrian Forbes-Black, vice president of Total Structures. With topics ranging from "The History of Truss" to "What Does that Engineering Report Really Tell Us?" the curriculum is designed to create a level base of fundamental information from which discussions may continue throughout the workshop. "After what happened last year here in the United States as well as in Europe, it is clear that we need to continue to sit down with our customers and make sure they know where to get the information they need to make the proper calls at shows," said Forbes-Black. "Fundamentally, I believe that ours is a safe industry, however that doesn't mean we can't do things better. That is the reason my company feels so strongly, and continues to put forth the resources to make sure our customers have all the information they need. We are very aware that there are a number of training schools being offered by our competitors already, however Total Structures feels that the training being offered needs more focus in order to have the required effect and hopefully show the outside world that we are reacting to what has been happening over the past couple of years, hence our decision to primarily focus on outdoor structures." In addition to the formal sessions and discussion forums, the event's presenters will be available throughout the workshop and LDI to discuss concerns and specific questions with attendees.
