More Free Education Added for PLASA Focus: Austin 2013

Three new sessions have been added to the PLASA Focus: Austin 2013 Professional Development Program, a two-day program of free educational seminars and workshops running alongside PLASA Focus: Austin, at the Palmer Events Center, on September 10-11, 2013.

In "Lights, Camera, Tracking!" Paul Braile, a representative from CAST, will demonstrate BlackTrax, a revolutionary technology solution which takes production into the twenty-first century. By integrating lighting, audio, multimedia, and video with one comprehensive tracking solution, BlackTrax delivers precise 3D and 6D positioning in real time. This session will take place at 1:30pm on both Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11.

"De-Mystifying Audio" will be presented by d&b audiotechnik on Tuesday, September 10 at 2pm. No matter how well designed your electrical signal path, the acoustic signal path between the loudspeaker and the listener's ear will always be more destructive. In this session Christopher Kulesa will explore the fundamentals of audio and acoustics, and will provide practical examples and experiments to help reinforce the interactions between loudspeakers and rooms.

In "Video Content Design 101" Michael Jefferson of JCConnect will present tools for cutting-edge video content development. Jefferson will guide the audience through the use of basic tools including the Sony Vegas and Final Cut Pro for non-linear editing, as well as compositing tools such as AfterEffects, and 3D modeling tools such as 3DS Max, Blender, and Softimage. This session will take place on Wednesday, September 11, and is an opportunity to see real world examples come to life on the projection screen and to hear questions answered.

For further information on these sessions and the others taking place, visitors should go to the PLASA Focus: Austin website; www.plasafocus.com/austin/seminars.
