Professional Wireless Systems RF Spectrum Management on the First Annual Premios Tu MundoWhen Telemundo kicked off its inaugural Premios Tu Mundo awards show, Professional Wireless Systems (PWS), a Masque Sound Company and skilled in supplying and supporting wireless systems for live and broadcast events, was on hand at the Fillmore at Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami Beach, Florida, providing frequency coordination and services for the Spanish-language network's first-annual awards gala and red carpet show. Presented by Telemundo, Premios Tu Mundo (Your World Awards) is a celebration of pop culture and a musical spectacular combining the power of television, Web, mobile, and social media platforms to give fans the final say in what's hot in everything that moves and inspires them, including telenovelas, music, fashion, movies, and sports. For the Premios Tu Mundo broadcast, PWS provided Shure Axient and UHF-R wireless microphone systems, BTR-800 wireless intercoms, and Comtek IFB systems. PWS worked in conjunction with Baltimore-based East Shore Sound, which handled the wired intercom and IFBs for the telecast. For the red carpet telecast prior to the main show, PWS provided Shure UHF-R wireless microphone systems, BTR-800 wireless intercoms, and Lectrosonics IFBs. The Shure Axient wireless management network is a comprehensive, innovative and fail-safe system. With its advanced planning, setup, and control capabilities, it is an extremely reliable product, especially in the heavily populated Miami television environment. "Anytime you do a show in Miami, there are a lot of local television stations that you have to deal with, so frequency coordination is a major challenge -- especially during red carpet events," says Brooks Schroeder, project manager, PWS. "Our expertise and the services we are able to provide, along with the gear we select, allow us to find, isolate, and minimize any potential problems that may arise." During the festivities, three experts from PWS were on site, monitoring the RF spectrum to ensure the show ran smoothly without interference issues.
