Chauvet Professional and USITT Present LED Seminar at DisneyChauvet Professional, a brand of Chauvet, and USITT Presents will host the seminar "How to Blend LED with Traditional Fixtures" from 9am to 5pm August 29 - 30 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Senior product manager for Chauvet Professional Ford Sellers will conduct the session, which includes topics such as transitioning and replacing existing lighting with energy saving LED fixtures, discussions on color -- narrow band vs. broad emitting, concepts in design -- using the right tool for the right job, and more. USITT executive director David Grindle said that offering professionals this type of hands-on training, which has direct impact on their careers is a great step in fulfilling USITT's mission. The first time Sellers led a USITT Presents workshop on June 3 in Miami, "the attendees were impressed with the amount of information they learned." "It's great to be back presenting in this public forum," Sellers said. "Since leaving Cornell University I have missed teaching (and learning from a group of inspired students). I am thankful to USITT for giving us this forum to educate our industry's top professionals, and up-and comers, so that they are able to better understand the opportunities and challenges afforded by the emergence of LED into mainstream product lines. Helping our industry maximize our investments, capitalize on the strengths of new technologies, and realize true value is central to our mission at Chauvet." With nearly 20 years of hands-on, lighting industry experience, Sellers is senior product development manager for Chauvet Professional and for Iluminarc, Chauvet's brand of architectural and architainment lighting. Sellers' move to Chauvet marked his arrival to the manufacturing side of the lighting industry where his knowledge and experience focuses on the development of new fixtures and educational outreach programs. USITT Presents "How to Blend LED with Traditional Fixtures" seminar will be held at Walt Disney World, 3410 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. Registration for students/early career USITT member is $30; USITT members $60; student/early career non-members $60 (contact Ron Procopio at Ron@usitt.org for discount information); and non-members $120. Box lunch is included with cost of training. See Chauvet Professional at PLASA Focus: Austin, September 10-11, and PLASA Focus: Nashville, February 18-19, 2014.
