Upstage Video Strikes Big with LED as World Cup Fever Hits an All-Time HighWorld Cup fever hit the United States in a big way this year and Upstage Video was at the forefront providing LED video screens for viewing party events in eight major cities across the country throughout the four plus weeks of games. In places like DuPont Circle, Center City Philly, and the Red Bull Arena in New York City, thousands of soccer fans flocked to the big screens to watch the World Cup games with fellow enthusiasts. In Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, The FIFA World Cup SoccerFest and Viewing Party was one of a select few outdoor viewing events in the nation officially approved by FIFA. More than 50,000 fans gathered at the SteelStacks arts and cultural campus on 12 separate game days to view the event on Upstage Video's 17' x 27' Daktronics PST-12HD mobile LED screen. "The World Cup is the most popular sporting event in the world, uniting all of the countries and cultures in celebration," says Curt Mosel, VP of marketing and PR for ArtsQuest, the nonprofit arts organization that hosted the event. "We definitely saw that during the FIFA World Cup SoccerFest and Viewing Party, with people from near and far coming together to watch the games including the USA's big matches. Upstage Video's giant LED screen was not only one of the main draws of the festival, it also offered exceptional picture clarity and quality, making for an incredible experience as you watched all the action from Brazil." In Washington D.C.'s DuPont Circle, an estimated 10,000 fans showed up in their respective country's garb to view the June 26th USA vs. Germany match on two 8' x 13' Color Specific 8mm LED walls provided by Upstage Video. Says event organizer Aaron DeNu, "It was an absolute pleasure working with Geza Divenyi and Upstage Video for our phenomenally successful World Cup Fan Festival in Washington, DC." DeNu added, "I know I can count on Upstage Video for all of our projects within US National Parks. From small events to high-end logistically complex setups, I'm grateful for [their] professionalism, expertise, and class." The World Cup events culminated with an ecstatic audience gathered in front of Philadelphia's popular German restaurant Brauhaus Schmitz, the unofficial World Cup headquarters for fans of team Germany. Upstage Video provided an 11' x 18' CS8mm Mobile LED screen for the final match, which was the perfect size and resolution for the thousands of fans celebrating their team's victory on Philly's South Street.
