MuseBox Musical Instrument and Effects Module Nominated for TEC Award

The MuseBox musical instrument and effects module is nominated for the 28th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards in the category of Musical Instrument Technology (Hardware).

Presented by the TEC Foundation, the TEC Awards are the pro audio industry's most prestigious awards honoring outstanding achievement in product innovation and sound production. The nominations, based on product entries by audio manufacturers, were made by a select panel of 130 professionals in numerous audio specialties. Winners will be announced Friday, January 25, 2013, in Anaheim, California.

MuseBox is the essential plug-and-play, software-powered musical instrument and effects module for electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, vocals, and drums. A collaboration between Peavey Electronics and Muse Research, MuseBox makes an extensive library of essential studio-quality sounds and effects available to musicians and audio professionals in an affordable, compact, and easy-to-use package.

MuseBox runs virtual instruments and effects software, the same technology used in the production of today's hit records and used on stage by the world's biggest touring bands. What's different is that MuseBox enables musicians of all types to take these cutting-edge software-based synths, sounds, and effects from the studio to the stage with ultimate ease, stability, and affordability.

The MuseBox is pre-loaded with more than 4GB of professional virtual instruments and effects, including an assortment of essential keyboard sounds, reverbs, chorus, compressors and more -- a total software package valued more than $900 featuring Universons, Wave Arts, AAS, Camel Audio, ForeFront, MuTech, and others, as well as Peavey's revolutionary ReValver amp modeling software -- all built-in, pre-authorized and ready to play.

MuseBox is powerful and versatile enough for the entire band, and even the sound engineer. Thanks to its extensive range of presets, flexible software and versatile I/O options, you can play guitar through it, sing through it, mix through it, play along to backing tracks, and of course, create lush keyboard sounds with a MIDI controller. Guitarists can use it to run amp-modeling software, multi-effects libraries, and more. Singers can enhance their vocals with reverb, compression, de-essing, and harmonization in real time. Keyboardists will love the hundreds of superb-quality sampled, modeled, and synthesized sounds with super-low latency and stability, while drummers can choose from an extensive collection of acoustic, electronic, and exotic hand percussion and pitched percussion sounds.

The versatility of MuseBox also makes it a must-have for live sound engineers who want the flexibility to process effects for front-of-house and monitors in a stable, portable, incredibly versatile box that is built for the road with its all-steel and -aluminum construction.

Using "software-based instruments and effects" is incredibly easy with MuseBox due to its innovative user-interface design. The SoundFinder feature lets you simply browse through different categories of sounds or effects, and select any one of the thousands of factory presets with the simple turn of a knob and press of a button. In addition, SoundFinder's preset architecture makes it easy to create new presets by combining different sounds or effects together, and then saving them as user presets that can be quickly recalled during a gig, either from the front panel or by simply connecting a footswitch to the back of the unit for hands-free operation.

MuseBox is not only simple to use, it's also very powerful and designed to grow with you as you explore the world of virtual instruments and effects. Musicians can connect a VGA monitor, mouse, and keyboard directly to the unit and take advantage of the DuoHost graphical user interface, which lets you explore and create your own presets or take advantage of the more advanced features like "MIDI Learn."

MuseBox also has a CF-expansion card slot on the back, which will allow users to add new virtual instruments and effects as they become available from Muse Research.

MuseBox's flexible I/O options include stereo, 24-bit, 48 kHz pro-grade 1/4" rear-panel inputs and outputs, as well as two front-panel guitar/mic inputs with phantom power, and MIDI and USB keyboard inputs.
