Paper and Pencil Exams Offered at USITT 2013 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The Entertainment Technician Certification Program is a high-quality certification program that can further enhance a technician's identity as a competent and knowledgeable leader in their field. The ETCP examinations will be given at USITT in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. All three ETCP examinations will be offered in one session the morning of March 22, 2013. Candidates who wish to take more than one exam should contact ETCP. Members and employees of members of USITT receive a $100 discount on examination fees. Interested candidates must submit their application, along with supporting materials and fee, to the ETCP office no later than March 1, 2013.

Having ETCP Certification demonstrates that the recipient is in the top third of the industry professionals in North America. In addition, to maintain the certification, a technician must accrue continuing education credits which shows their employer that the technician is current with industry developments and practices. To date, ETCP has issued almost 1,600 certifications.

Candidate information, including eligibility requirements and applications, is available on the ETCP website at the URL below, or to have the information mailed, please contact Meredith Moseley-Bennett, ETCP Certification Manager, at 212-244-1505 or etcp@plasa.org.

In addition, ETCP examinations are given daily at over 190 computer-based testing centers across the US and Canada. After an application has been received and accepted, candidates will be sent information on how to schedule an examination at a site, date, and time that is most convenient for them.

The ETCP Council members are key leaders drawn from entertainment business, labor, facilities, associations, and academia representing the diversity of the entertainment industry. Membership includes PLASA, Actsafe, AMPTP, BASE Entertainment, Cirque du Soleil/MGM Mirage, CITT, Disney Theatrical Productions, IAVM, IATSE, InfoComm, The League, Live Nation, PRG, TEA, and USITT. ETCP is a PLASA initiative created to promote industry safety.
