ITEAC Announces Graham Vick as Latest Addition as a Keynote SpeakerWith just 34 days to go and less than 25 guaranteed full three-day delegate tickets left, the editorial board is delighted that renowned opera director Graham Vick, is the latest keynote speaker to join the growing presenter line-up of the International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference. Artistic director of Birmingham Opera Company, he works in the world's major opera houses with the world's leading conductors, including Muti, Levine, Haitink, Gergiev, Runnicles, Ozawa, and Mehta. His pioneering work in Birmingham has attracted the attention of people and companies worldwide, and although a small operation, Birmingham Opera Company is now seen to be at the forefront of the modernization of opera and a pioneer in its development as a 21st century art form. Current projects include Britten's Death in Venice in Berlin, Die Tote Stadt at La Scala, Semiramide in Pesaro, and a new commission by Giorgio Battistelli for Birmingham Opera Company. Once the current allocation of full three-day delegate tickets is sold there is no guarantee three-day tickets will be available. Presented by the Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT), ITEAC 2018, running June 3 - 5 in London, will be the fifth edition of the conference. Conceived in 2002 by the late renowned stage engineer and ABTT Fellow, Richard Brett, the event has grown from strength to strength.
