d&b audiotechnik Supported the First US PLASA Focus in Austin

Roger Keim, who heads up the marketing department at d&b audiotechnik Inc., knew exactly why the company wanted to have a presence at the first ever PLASA Focus in Austin, Texas. "The idea of regional trade events is very appealing to d&b audiotechnik because of the more personalized opportunities it affords our clients. We also recognize that the tie-up between ESTA and the PLASA organization can only strengthen the industry's voice at the government level; so we felt it was doubly important to support this inaugural show."

The d&b audiotechnik booth featured two distinctly different loudspeakers this year, both from the Black range. Part of the T-series is the T10, a multifunctional cabinet that can be used either as a line array or as a high directivity point source loudspeaker. The HF driver is fitted to a unique waveguide horn producing vertical line source directivity with a 90-degree horizontal pattern. Rotation of the horn by 90 degree, relative to this, produces an accurate point source dispersion 90-degree high by 35-degree vertical, transforming a vertically oriented T10 into a stand-alone full range loudspeaker, with just the twist of the wrist, the company says.

The E4, part of the newly launched additions to the d&b E-series and also one of the smallest loudspeakers in the company's product range, weighs in at just 2.4lbs. Intended for both speech and music reinforcement in a mobile environment and as surround sound, delay or fill systems, the E4 presents a wide symmetrical dispersion pattern in the horizontal and vertical plane, the company says. It can be mounted in either altitude, is weather protected, and suitable for temporary outdoor use as standard. The E-series is also available with a special color option.

"There is nothing mysterious about the d&b audiotechnik philosophy of democracy for listeners, and being part of these smaller more regional shows is just part of it," concluded Keim.
