Outer Critics Circle Nominations Announced The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced its nominations yesterday. In the category of outstanding set design, the nominees are Desmond Heeley, for The Importance of Being Earnest at Roundabout Theatre; Derek McLane, for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo; Neil Murray, for Brief Encounter, at the Roundabout; and Todd Rosenthal, for The Motherf***er with the Hat. Nominees in the category of outstanding lighting design include Paule Constable for War Horse; Natasha Katz for Sister Act; David Lander for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo; and Malcom Rippeth for Brief Encounter. Costume design nominees include Lez Brotherston for Sister Act; Tim Chappel and Lizzie Gardner for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert; Desmond Heeley, again for The Importance of Being Earnest; and Lizz Wolf, for Baby It's You! Leading the nominations are Sister Act, with nine; the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Anything Goes, with eight, and The Book of Mormon and The Motherf***er with the Hat, with six apiece.
