New Yamaha Professional Audio and Steinberg Products Make AES Debut The new Yamaha RIVAGE PM7 Digital Audio Console will make its AES debut at booth 624, in New York City, October 17 - 19. Positioned directly below the current RIVAGE PM10 Digital Mixing System with emphasis on preserving workflow, the CSD-R7 is the same size as the RIVAGE PM10 system CS-R10 control surface but with the DSP engine built into the console offering enhanced portability and system flexibility while maintaining high operability. Two new high-capacity Yamaha cards extend the interface capability of the RIVAGE PM Series: HY144-D-SRC Dante Audio offers up to 144 channels of integrated sample rate conversion to a wide variety of Dante devices and applications allowing for non-synchronous connectivity. Five modes of operation can be utilized: 144 inputs with SRC, 144 outputs with SRC, 72 I/O with SRC, 144 I/O with synchronous SRC, or 144 I/O with no SRC. The HY128-MD card offers up to 128 channels of MADI with Sample Rate conversion using either coaxial or optical interfacing for connection to recording systems or MADI-based infrastructure. The no-charge update version 5.0 for Yamaha CL and QL Digital Audio Consoles will elevate the industry standard mixing systems to the next level providing enhanced convenience, new features, and expandability. The highly sought-after Portico 5045 Primary Source Enhancer by Rupert Neve Designs is now available in the premium rack. Individual fade time functionality allows different fade times to be set for each fader, an important feature for users who need complex fader control, especially for musicals and other theatrical applications. Two new Dante equipped I/O Rack units have been added to the company's professional audio lineup: Rio3224-D2 and Rio1608-D2. Together with the new CSD-R7 control surface, the I/O Racks are components of the RIVAGE PM Series and can also be used with current CL and QL Series Digital Mixing Consoles. Both the Rio3224-D2 and Rio1608-D2 include dual power supply units to minimize the possibility of power loss during a show. MMP1 Studio Monitor Management System Version 1.1 firmware update adds remote control support for the TMC-1 monitor controller produced by CB Electronics, a manufacturer of equipment for post-production studios. With Version 1.1, the TMC-1 can be used to remotely control MMP1 monitor source selection, speaker system selection, levels, mute, and dim. Used in conjunction with the MMP1 Controller app for iPad, this provides convenient access to a wide range of detailed settings, for a more efficient, productive monitoring environment. Steinberg Nuendo Live 2 software is designed to deliver reliability and performance for live recordings and premium multi-track live recordings, combining intuitive use and rock-solid stability with outstanding audio quality and seamlessly integrates with Yamaha CL and QL Series Digital Audio Consoles. The meter view is one of the latest additions to Nuendo Live, allowing the mix engineer to oversee all of the recording session's levels over the entire display, showing 32, 64, 96, 128, or 160 meters at once. Steinberg's Nuendo 8.3 represents a milestone in the world of virtual reality (VR) audio production -- the first and only professional DAW to integrate an entire audio production workflow for VR. Ideal for those starting off VR content creation, this updated feature set contains everything to start VR production easily without the need to laboriously search for, learn and integrate with other tools. Additionally, Nuendo 8.3 supports a plethora of third-party VST 3 VR plug-ins, such as Facebook 360. The internal VR functionality in Nuendo 8.3 is designed to be very similar to conventional surround production workflows, enabling the faster completion of VR projects. Nuendo 8.3 is a free maintenance update for Nuendo 8 owners. Steinberg Iconica Opus combines Iconica Sections and Players and Iconica Ensembles into a powerful tool for composers and producers. With over 190 GB of content, comprising strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and a harp alongside ensembles and presets, as well as a huge variety of expressions and articulations, Iconica Opus incorporates the entire instrumental spectrum of a symphonic orchestra. The new Yamaha DZR line of powered speakers and DXS-XLF powered subwoofers use high-performance components and the latest DSP to provide superior audio quality. The digital processing in all powered models -- both speakers and subwoofers -- is at 96kHz. This exceptionally high speed, combined with the newly developed advanced FIR-X tuning technology, minimizes latency and phase distortion. The new CZR Series of passive speakers is ideal for those installations where power amplifiers are used remotely. And, adding their companion CXS-XLF subwoofers will extend a sound system's bottom end dramatically (down to 29Hz) for more bass-heavy applications. Like their powered counterparts, the CZR and CXS-XLF feature best-in-class SPL performance. When paired with Yamaha PX Series amplifiers or other compatible processors, the loudspeakers take full advantage of dedicated speaker processor tuning settings to produce DZR-quality sound.
