Jeff Ravitz Receives Parnelli Lighting Designer of the Year

Jeff Ravitz, of Intensity Advisors, was awarded the Parnelli Lighting Designer of the Year on Saturday, November 23 at the annual ceremony held at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas during the LDI 2013 show. The award was for his design of the Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band tour that performed internationally in 2013.

Ravitz comments, "I share this award with Todd Ricci, my excellent alter ego who is the tour lighting designer; John Hoffman, who operates our automated lighting; crew chief, Brad Brown and his entire team; Morpheus Lights, who very thoroughly support the design; and of course, George Travis, the show's tour director. The Parnelli evening was organized as a lifetime achievement tribute to George, so receiving the award that evening, with him, his family, and band managers Jon Landau and Barbara Carr, present made it all the more sweet."

Ravitz, who was honored with the Primetime Emmy for Springsteen and the ESB's HBO special, has just wrapped shooting a season of Game Show Network's Mind Of A Man, premiering in January. He will have two holiday specials airing in December -- Il Volo, and TV One's One Holiday. And if all goes well, Ravitz says he will light an over-scaled holiday pageant in Manaus, Brazil, for the national network, Globo. This year, Ravitz was also honored with two regional Emmys for broadcasts originating in Detroit and San Diego.
