JHS Introduces the HK Audio LUCAS Nano 300 at PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012Trade distributor John Hornby Skewes & Co. Ltd. presented the HK Audio LUCAS Nano 300 at PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012 at the Royal Armouries, April 17-18, along with the current HK Audio, Studiomaster, Lab.gruppen, Lake, and LA Audio ranges. The show was a resounding success for JHS Pro Audio, with the Lucas Nano's diminutive dimensions attracting attention. The next step up the evolutionary ladder for HK's prosperous Lucas line, the Nano 300 is a revolution in portable sound, the company says. Lucas Nano's ultra-compact subwoofer and two fist-sized satellites only weigh 10kg together. The subwoofer houses the electronics and a versatile three-channel mixing console so that Lucas Nano 300 is ready for immediate use without any additional equipment. The two satellites lock into a transport bay on the subwoofer with a simple twist of the wrist, and its comfortable grips allow the entire system to be easily carried in just one hand. Lucas Nano 300 is a portable sound reinforcement solution for presenters and entertainers, a monitoring system for e-drums and high-quality desktop multimedia, a near-field PA for smaller fair events, and more, according to the company. The classic setup with stereo satellites is easily reconfigured as a mono system for applications requiring higher sound pressure and greater range, and a range of accessory extend Lucas Nano's capabilities. Current offerings include the add-on package featuring poles and a tripod, as well as tabletop tripods that may also be used as wall mounts. Showcased alongside the Nano were examples from the Studiomaster range, which are now distributed exclusively in the UK and Eire by JHS, and a number of other items from HK Audio, Lab.gruppen, Lake, and LA Audio. HK Audio also powered two seminar rooms throughout the show, with a SoundCaddy One -- the world's fastest PA -- and a super-portable Elements system providing crystal-clear sound for a series of well-attended presentations, while the Armouries continued to use their HK Audio house PA system to make announcements. Alan Smith, JHS's executive director sales and marketing, said: "We were pleased to be back at PLASA Focus where the show had retained its intimate and friendly atmosphere. It was a great opportunity to catch up with our pro audio customers large and small; timely too because of the new HK Audio Elements Plus, Lucas Nano 300, and Linear 5 products. We look forward to seeing our pro audio customers again for PLASA at Earls Court in September and in-between of course at the JHS event in June."
