Bose Adds New RMS218 Subwoofer to RoomMatch Array Module Loudspeaker LineBose Professional Systems Division has expanded its range of RoomMatch array module loudspeakers with the new RMS218 VLF-subwoofer module. The RoomMatch RMS218 subwoofer is designed to integrate with Bose RoomMatch Progressive Directivity Array systems that require top-class sound quality with program material that extends down to 25Hz, allowing use in the most demanding performing arts centers, dance clubs, auditoriums, and houses of worship. The RMS218 subwoofer features dual Bose LF18 18" high-excursion, 4.5" voice coil, neodymium-magnet transducers that increase power handling and reduce power compression. The V-baffle design features a large center port to reduce airflow turbulence and distortion, while minimizing enclosure width to allow integration with all RoomMatch modules. The RMS218 enclosure is constructed of rugged, Baltic-birch plywood finished in a two-part polyurethane coating that is highly resistant to scratches and scuff marks. An optional RMSFLY218 kit allows suspended array applications. The RMS218 VLF-subwoofer module can be used with RoomMatch full-range array modules to form high-impact, three-way systems. For the ultimate performance RoomMatch system, the RMS218 VLF-subwoofer can be used with RoomMatch RMS215 and full-range modules, to form four-way systems. The RMS218 subwoofer has a rated frequency response of 30-200Hz (+/- 3 dB) and usable frequency range (-10dB) that extends to 25Hz. Long-term continuous power handling is rated at 2,500W (two-hour test) which provides peak sound pressure level capabilities of 141dB. The new RMS218 subwoofer module will be available through authorized Bose dealers and integrators beginning October 2013.
