DPA Microphones Introduces d:vote Rock Touring Kits at the 2014 NAMM ShowDPA Microphones, the manufacturer of high-level reference and headset microphones, announces its new d:vote 4099 Rock Touring Kits at the 2014 NAMM Show in booth 7119, January 23 - 26, in Anaheim, California. With the choice between a four-piece or 10-piece Peli case package, the company says the new kits are arriving on the heels of increasing popularity of the d:vote among rock groups such as Metallica and Paramore. The company has also released two similar Classic Touring Kits for classical musicians. Despite its tiny, discreet size and lightweight design, the DPA d:vote is rugged and stable as it features a versatile and extendable gooseneck, sturdy shock mount and a detachable heavy-duty cable, making it suited to the rigors of touring and live performance. The mic can easily be unclipped and repositioned or moved to another instrument with only one hand. Additionally, the d:vote's microphone mounting system is designed to be extremely gentle, never marring the finish of an instrument. "The d:vote is becoming increasingly popular with the rock music market, so we wanted to offer something special to make engineers' jobs easier," says Christian Poulsen, CEO of DPA Microphones. "In speaking with fans, we quickly realized that this wide acceptance is largely attributed to the fact that DPA is the only microphone company to offer adapters for its miniature instrument mics. With other brands, engineers usually have to use tape or Velcro to get the mics to stay in place in certain areas that prove to be the best placements. d:vote has clips for all instruments and, with the new kits, engineers have an ingenious solution." Included in the new 10-piece d:vote Rock Touring Kit are 10 high SPL d:votes, 10 microdot-XLR adapters, 10 heavy-duty mic cables and seven drum clips, five sax/trumpet clips, four universal clips, two for each guitar, violin, piano, cello, and one for bass. The smaller four-piece kit includes four d:votes with two universal clips and four for each drum, sax and trumpet, as well as four mic cables and four microdot adapters. Both configurations are available in a convenient Peli case. As the mic is already widely popular among jazz and classical musicians, the company has also introduced two Peli case Classical Touring Kits. Like its rock counterpart, the four-piece version includes four each of high SPL d:votes, microdot-XLR adapters, and mini mic cables. Also included are four violin clips, two for cello, one universal and one additional for each guitar, sax, trumpet, and bass. The 10-piece kit includes 10 mics, adapters and cables, as well as eight violin clips, four for piano, three for cello, two universal, and two for each piano, sax, trumpet, bass, and drum. The d:vote condenser mics in both the Rock and Classic Touring Kits feature supercardioid polar patterns for highly uniform off-axis frequency response and superior gain before feedback. Capable of handling high sound-pressure levels, these microphones live up to DPA's pedigree of breathtaking clarity and richness. The d:vote's MicroDot-XLR connector and variety of adapters ensure compatibility with virtually any wireless system. The product can also be used as a standard 48V phantom-powered microphone via its supplied XLR connector.
