Remee Wire & Cable Introduces Cat6A Cables with Reduced DiametersRemee Wire & Cable, a manufacturer of electronic wire and cable, introduces new Category 6A cables with reduced diameters that meet or exceed all TIA standards. The smaller size provides a number of advantages for installation, cable management, and handling, while allowing networks to operate at 10 Gigabits per second. Remee Cat6A Cables feature a nominal O.D. of .255", which is only 80% of the size of previous generation Cat6A cables from Remee. The reduction in size also makes these cables 20% lighter, weighing only 35lb per 1,000' reel. As a result, these Cat6A cables are easier to load, handle, and move around on the job, and they are helping to prevent job site injuries. Due to their smaller diameter, Remee's Cat 6A cables occupy less space, allowing more cables to fill conduit on the job site. These new cables increase conduit fill capacity by 75%. Previous versions of Cat6A cables with a nominal O.D. of .320" were limited to four cables, at a maximum 40% fill rate. By contrast, seven of the new smaller Cat6A cables can be installed in conduit at a 40% fill rate.* In addition, these smaller O.D. cables occupy less space in crowded cable trays and facilitate handling in high density applications. Because the smaller O.D. allows for more efficient air flow in conduit and cable trays, the 23 AWG solid copper conductors provide superior performance in PoE+, PoE++, and 4PPoE applications. Another important feature of Remee's Cat6A cables with reduced diameters is they will provide the same electrical performance over their larger counterparts. The same Cat6A electrical characteristics are maintained, while getting other benefits from the smaller package.
