Lycian Stage Lighting Announces Unveiling of Its First LED Followspot at 2018 USITTThe ZOT LED from Lycian Stage Lighting, a prototype of which was shown at LDI, has had numerous improvements following that showing. Upgrades include optical changes to yield an even smoother beam. Controls include a Lycian manufactured heavy-duty nichrome iris, and new mechanical fader. An internal manual five color boomerang is included as well as gobo slot. The LED light source is a long life LED. Full specifications will be published following USITT. The ZOT LED photometrics slot it between the company's 575W and 700W discharge Zot fixtures. The ZOT LED joins the existing ZOT i series which consists of four traditionally lit followspots all built on the same platform allowing the ZOT LED to be manufactured with a great economy of scale. Said Steve Lerman, director of sales, "like all ZOTs, the ZOT LED allows for a followspot to be offered in a market that didn't have American made products at a sensitive price point. We achieved our goal of designing and building a compact, bright, durable LED followspot that is far brighter than comparable imported products, but with American made production and to do so for a lower cost. We're proud to put the 'Made in USA' sticker on these followspots." The ZOT LED is expected to go into full production later in March.
