Eric Rouse Joins Sapsis Rigging The management and staff of Sapsis Rigging announce, effective May 1, Eric Rouse has joined the Sapsis Rigging team, taking on the role of general manager. Bill Sapsis, president of Sapsis Rigging noted, "I'm very excited by this. Eric's industry experience, his depth of knowledge, and his reputation will be a huge asset for Sapsis Rigging. I've known Eric for over 30 years, and he is the best person to take on this job. We share the same passion not only for rigging, but also the safety side of the industry. I'm thrilled he's decided to join our group and am very much looking forward to our working together." Rouse comments, "I am thrilled to be joining the Sapsis team. There are only a few select companies in our industry whose names are synonymous with the quality product they offer, and Sapsis Rigging is one of them. Bill has done an amazing job of building this company into a leader in the industry in more ways than one. I am excited to add my energy to the mix and see where we go from here." Rouse has been working in the industry for 30 years and brings experience in rigging, safety, technical direction, and project management. He started his career at Flying by Foy after graduate school and then moved on to the O show at the Bellagio as an automation technician and then a rigging lead. He taught at the University of South Carolina and Penn State (his MFA alma mater) where he became a tenured associate professor. At Penn State he began working as an inspector for Sapsis Rigging and taught rigging seminars for Mountain Productions, James Thomas Engineering, Disney, ETC, and several IATSE locals. Rouse moved on to be the TD at the Denver Center Theatre Company, a trainer with Chicago Flyhouse, and most recently, director of installations and show support with EPS in Las Vegas.
