Women Behind The Console: Top Producers and Engineers Come Together at 2011 NAMM H.O.T. Zone Making Music Herstory will present the panel discussion, Women Behind the Console: Inside the Process at the NAMM H.O.T. Zone (Hands-On Training) on January 14, at 12-1:15PM in room 204A. Panelists include Grammy- and Tony-nominated singer-songwriter Brenda Russell (The Color Purple, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige), producer/engineer Sylvia Massy, RadioStar Studios (Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Prince), Grammy-winning engineer Ann Mincieli (Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Usher), ASCAP Award-winning engineer Marcella Araica (Timbaland, Keri Hilson, Britney Spears), and audio engineer Jeri Palumbo (NFL, CBS, FOX), moderated by producer Lisa Chamblee Hampton, executive producer of Making Music Herstory (Prince, George Duke, Justin Timberlake). The panel will discuss the engineering, production or songwriting process behind their favorite projects and share techniques, gear interests, and clientele interaction. "I can't wait to hear the insider stories to some really famous songs," says Hampton. "To have these extraordinary producers and engineers together, we will certainly gain an education and also get to know them a little better. It will be very powerful to see and hear these women talk about the work they have done." For everyone who can't make it to the NAMM Show, the event will be broadcast live on USTREAM.tv (www.ustream.com/channel/women-behind-the-console) and the archive will be available for viewing anytime on that channel and on www.makingmusicherstory.com.
