Dan Spitz Tours with Harman's AKG IVM4500 In-Ear MonitorsAs lead guitarist, bass guitarist, vocalist, programmer, engineer, and co-producer of the rock duo Red Lamb, three-time GRAMMY nominee, multi-platinum recording artist Dan Spitz, former member and co-founder of heavy metal group Anthrax, believes tone is the most important aspect of music. When recording or touring, Spitz counts on the smallest and most effective rig he can put together for quality and reliability. The musician relies whole-heartily on Harman's AKG IVM4500 in-ear monitors and AKG DMS700 wireless system for the perfect sound. Spitz's new collaboration with 13-time Grammy nominee Dave Mustaine, of Megadeth, Red Lamb has recently started touring and is working to help raise higher awareness of Autism through music. During practice, recording, or on stage, the all-purpose musician simply will not play without his AKG IVM4500 in-ear monitors. "I don't use any guitar cabinets on stage and rely solely on my in-ears as I go direct to the house console. I carry a monitor board for the entire bands' in-ears, which enables us all to have mastered album quality mixes in our in-ears each night. My IVM4500's, as well as my backup duplicate system are always with me. Without the IVM4500's, I don't play." After years of studio programming and cloning his amps, combined with the increasingly higher price of equipment shipping, Spitz moved to a mindset of having the smallest rig available. "From before and during my time with Anthrax, to the present, tone has been the number-one priority for me," Spitz stated. "I've had numerous wireless guitar systems in the past.
