d3's gx Range Makes US Debut at InfoComm 2017d3 Technologies will introduce its new gx range to the US market at InfoComm 2017, June 14 - 16, in the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando. The d3 team, who will be in booth 4069, will also display their popular pro range. Prototypes of the gx range were previously shown at Prolight + Sound, Frankfurt, 2017. The new media servers are designed to facilitate generative content, which is becoming a progressively important part of live show design. With the gx range, users can render video, audio, MIDI, tracking and automation data, or interactive inputs in real-time for shows that respond to their environments. Whether it's smoke that moves as it's touched or water that ripples as performers pass by, immersive experiences are transforming how live content is being designed. The gx media servers combine output and processing power to produce dynamic content with high resolutions and better frame rates. They build on d3's legacy of pushing the color, clarity, and complexity of shows to new limits. There are two models in the gx range: the gx 2 and gx 1. The gx 2 has the fastest professional grade GPU currently available and offers two VFC slots (two 4K outputs, or eight HD outputs) in the same rugged chassis as the tried and tested pro range. It delivers unrivaled performance for the most cutting-edge generative content available. The gx 1 brings the same power density to smaller shows and installations. It packs a powerful single-width workstation GPU and a single VFC slot (one 4K, or four HD outputs) into an all-new compact yet rugged 2U pro chassis. Propelling the wave of generative content forward is Notch, a third-party software partner and a pioneering tool for creativity, which enables creatives to make real-time, live interactive visual content with an unprecedented level of quality and flexibility. The gx range of hardware platforms comes bundled with a full Notch playback license giving users access to the latest software without any barriers. The gx range will begin shipping to the US in June 2017. Rollouts to Europe and the APAC region will follow in September. d3 will also be showcasing the flagship pro range. The pro range was created with one core mission in mind: to play huge video content across massive canvases in the toughest of live environments. d3 pro media servers been used on some of the biggest and most complex projects, including the Hoover Dam, KLM's Boeing MD-11 airliner, and the record-breaking 2016 Circle of Light festival in Moscow. The pro range has been engineered with the power to scale any show with the smoothest possible live playback experience, while remaining tough and reliable. The latest member of the pro range, the new 2x4pro, launched earlier in 2017, will be on display at InfoComm. With two VFC slots, this machine brings the power of the pro range to medium-size shows.
